When date night rolls around do you find yourself making last-minute calls to every restaurant in town? Do you desperately seek out that romantic dinner reservation, only to realize that it just doesn’t exist? Sure, you could give up and call off Valentine’s day or you could treat your valentine to a romantic dinner for two at home.
“What!? Cook at home? No way!” I can hear you saying. But don’t sweat it. You can cook a full meal in the comfort of your home with just a little help because Luvo has got you covered with their perfectly created, delicious meals that are super easy to order and are ready in no time. Serve your sweetheart a frozen meal on Valentine’s day? How could we even suggest such a thing? Well, because we’ve got a winning plan to make it work! We know this is a special occasion, and we know that you want it to appear that you put some effort into it. That’s why we’ve added ideas on how to turn these bowls into a full-on romantic dinner. Candles, a tablecloth and rose petals are optional, but they certainly don’t hurt!
Before you start planning, it’s important to know that besides adding the items we mention here, you could also add some fantastic sides too. For example a lovely salad made with fresh greens and veggies tossed in a bright, citrus vinaigrette would be fabulous or even a beautiful bowl of fresh fruit would be nice. And of course, do NOT forget the dessert! Warn your sweetheart to save some room for fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate or a piece of really nice dark chocolate!
Luvo’s Great Karma Coconut Curry Bowl with Shrimp
- 1 Luvo’s Great Karma Coconut Curry Bowl
- 1 tbsp of curry powder
- 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 lb of peeled and deveined shrimp
- salt and pepper (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped, fresh cilantro
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- To a large, resealable plastic bag add 1 tablespoon curry powder, 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil and a ½ pound of large, peeled and deveined shrimp and toss to coat.
- Spread the shrimp out in an even layer onto a large rimmed baking sheet. Season lightly with salt and pepper and cook 8-10 minutes or until cooked through.
- While shrimp are cooking, heat the Great Karma Coconut Curry Bowl according to package directions.
- Remove shrimp from the oven and toss with ¼ cup chopped, fresh cilantro. Portion Curry into bowls then top with shrimp.
Luvo’s Hawaiian Un-Fried Rice with Baked Tofu
- 1 bowl of Luvo’s Hawaiian Un-Fried Rice
- 8 ounces of extra-firm tofu
- 1-2 tsp soy sauce (to taste)
- 1 tbsp sliced green onion (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 400’F. Cut 8 ounces extra-firm tofu (about ½ block) into ¼-inch-thick planks and line up on the cutting board, covered in a layer or two of paper towels. Cover sliced tofu with another layer of paper towels. Press down on the tofu to release any extra moisture.
- Place tofu on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray both sides of tofu liberally with non-stick cooking spray and season with salt. Sprinkle both sides with cornstarch then bake, turning halfway through cooking time, until lightly browned on both sides, about 30 minutes.
- While tofu is cooking, heat Luvo’s Hawaiian Un-Fried Rice according to package directions.
- Portion Rice into bowls then top with tofu, a light drizzle of low sodium soy sauce and sliced green onion for garnish.
